The Mount’s Indoor Track and Field team was off to a quick start this season as they were forced to forgo their first meet due to weather conditions. This pushed them right into the beginning of the championship part of their season with CTC Relay Championships as their first meet. This meet gave the team the motivation to move forward through the rest of the season, as their 4x200m relay, 4x800m relay, and long jump relay all placed within the top five.

The team carried this positive momentum into the Super Essex Conference Championships where they placed 2nd overall in the Liberty Division. The team’s next stop was Essex County Relays where they finished 7th overall, the Mount’s highest finishing place since 2014. From the Essex County Relays, the team was also able to send fourteen of their athletes to the Non-Public B State Championships. Since the team had recently moved down a division to Non-Public B, the coaches were excited to see what the championship meet had in store for them. The meet was a day full of personal bests for the team. They had numerous 7th and 8th place finishers, just shy of advancing to the Meet of Champions.

The team did have one qualifier for MOCs, Makenzi Patterson, for the 55m dash who ran an impressive 7.74. Overall, the team made significant progress this season and will carry the confidence and momentum built into their outdoor season.
