Do you love listening to your friends sing or cheering for them during dance breaks in the spring musical? Are you amazed with the artistic talent of Mount students who take one of our highly coveted art classes? Could listening to a comedic speech or skit give you a much-needed laugh during APs and final exams? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are the ideal audience member for the MSDA Spring Arts Festival on May 23.

The Spring Arts Festival is the culmination of a year’s worth of work from MSDA’s visual and performing arts groups. The choir, dance team, forensics team, and art students have been working tirelessly on their respective songs, dance routines, and artwork for the viewing of our school community, and it would mean the world to them if you were there.

The performance typically features 5-8 choir and chamber choir pieces that range from formal performance songs to contemporary a cappella pieces. Songs this year have been selected from the discographies of Josh Groban, Meghan Trainor, Pentatonix, and the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, to name a few. Our final song, “One World”, will even feature students from the Music Department at Caldwell University.

The songs are broken up by forensics skits and performance routines by our competition-winning dance team. Drawings, paintings, and photography by MSDA students will be on display in the PAC, hallways, and cafeteria. With so many different mediums of expression on display, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Spring Arts Festival will take place in the Doris M. Byrne Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. There is no cost of admission, and the concert will have a brief intermission with refreshments available. Please attend to support your hardworking friends and classmates, especially our seniors.
