Over the summer, I had the pleasure of witnessing my idol, Beyoncé , perform live. I honestly cannot begin to explain the extraordinary experience of seeing her on stage.

Since I was a little kid, Beyoncé has been one of my biggest inspirations. I remember dancing to “Single Ladies” and knowing the whole dance to it (I still do).

In April 2018, Beyoncé performed at the infamous Coachella. I remember standing in front of my laptop, memorizing the choreography to “Everybody Mad,” wishing I was there.

Fast forward to August 2, 2018, the day of Beyoncé’s sold-out Metlife Stadium performance. I was in the kitchen the morning of the concert, begging my dad to get me tickets. Given the circumstances, I was pretty certain this was not going to happen. All of a sudden, my dad handed me the tickets to OTR 11 and I was on my way to see the legendary Queen B and Jay-Z perform. With only a few hours until the start of the concert, I rushed to Metlife and ran out of the car halfway on the highway. Surrounded by other Beyhive fans, I climbed a hill (in heels) to get inside the stadium.

This was the most iconic day of my life.

Beyoncé is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning recording artist acclaimed for her thrilling vocals, landmark music videos, and high-intensity live shows. Considered one of the greatest performers of all time, Bey is known for her amazing backup dancers and band that always accompany her on stage. Her crew is massive which makes her complicated productions possible.

Her live performance did not end with the summer heat. In December, Beyoncé rocked the world, accompanied by her husband, at Global Citizen: Mandela 100 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Clips from the Global Citizen performance flooded the internet and brought me right back to August. The entire experience was surreal and had such a lasting impact which is why I wanted to personally share it with all of you.
