On December 5, Chick-fil-A opened one of its newest locations in Wayne, New Jersey near the Willowbrook Mall. Chick-fil-A initially aimed to open November 21; however, it was pushed back due to construction issues to December 5, 2019. Chick-fil-A has spanned coast to coast in America, including locations in New York City to Los Angeles. They have restaurants in 46 states as of now and are still opening new restaurants almost weekly.

Most common down South, but rapidly spreading, Chick-fil-A, it is one of the largest fast food restaurant chains in America, most popular for their original chicken sandwich. Originally the Dwarf Grill, a co-founder rebranded the restaurant after discovering a way to make quick chicken sandwiches. They then marketed around the slogan, “We didn’t invent the chicken, just the chicken sandwich.”

Chick-fil-A prides themselves on a simple, yet tasty, menu, with an even better service. It is a requirement for their employees to respond to “Thank you” with “My pleasure.” Another key characteristic of Chick-fil-A that sets them apart from other fast food restaurants is their explicit tie to religion. Their founder, a devout Southern Baptist, allowed his religious beliefs to have a major impact on the company and mold who they are as a brand. Chick-fil-A is open Monday through Saturday, with a distinct “closed on Sunday” rule. Sunday is viewed in Christian religions as a day of rest.

Currently, Chik-fil-A’s most famous marketing technique is their cow mascot. According to the company, the slogan “EAT MOR CHIKIN” was created as a result of “these fearless cows, acting in enlightened self-interest, realized that when people eat chicken, they don’t eat beef.”

Chick-fil-A is always busy. Despite serving fast food and having impeccable service, the line is almost always out the door. Recently, they launched an online ordering app. With each purchase made on the app and scanning the app in-store, customers collect points to get discounts or free food, similar to the Starbucks app.
