Introducing…Mrs. Van Duyne: MSDA’s new Anatomy and Business teacher. Undertaking the challenge of teaching two vastly different subjects, Mrs. Van Duyne is almost fully involved with all grades at the Mount community, teaching ninth, eleventh, and twelfth graders.
Mrs. Van Duyne joins MSDA with an interesting backstory; she grew up on Long Island and first studied communications at Molloy University in New York, and later education at Queens University. She eventually moved to Caldwell, New Jersey when she got married and still resides there today.
She has two kids, a ten-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter, who keep her busy with cheer and football games and practices. Previously, she worked at Harrison Elementary School right here in Caldwell. Mrs. Van Duyne shared that she was hired at Mount only a week before the school year began, but she was able to ask questions and quickly prepare!
Mrs. Van Duyne shared that the most exciting part about joining Mount is having support and being in a fun and new environment. She loves to spend her free time at the beach, at her children’s games, and taking her dogs on walks. When asked which MSDA pillar was her favorite, Mrs. Van Duyne responded, “Out of the four pillars, my favorite is community.” MSDA is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Van Duyne and cannot wait to see all the great things she will do!
