Veteran Head Coach Rob Osieja enters his third season leading Mount Saint Dominic Academy’s Winter Track & Field team, emphasizing the philosophy that “happy + healthy = personal bests.” Coach Osieja is proud of the legacy Mount Track & Field continues to build, noting that the past two seasons have been successful ones, with the team contending for conference titles and earning numerous conference, county, and state medals in both individual and relay events. He explains that for this “championship mentality” to thrive, athletes must have both the desire to succeed and the vision to turn their goals into reality.
This year’s team is anchored by four veteran senior athletes: Natalia Feliz, Lily Nachbaur, Keira Tagliareni and Jenna Wall. These athletes bring invaluable experience and determination to each meet, helping to set the tone for the season. Last year, Feliz and then-senior Anna Cacciacarne led the team to a Non-Public A State Championship in the Shot Put Relay, exemplifying the Mount’s commitment to excellence in field events.
The coaching staff includes Assistant Coaches Mike Vigil and Kathleen Mulligan, both of whom share Coach Osieja’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment where athletes can achieve their best. With a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, the Mount’s track team is ready to compete at the highest levels.
The 2024-2025 season opens on December 14 at the Garfield Shot Put/High Jump Invitational, marking the beginning of another exciting chapter for Mount Track & Field. With an emphasis on positivity, determination and teamwork, the team is poised to continue its success and further solidify its standing in the conference and beyond.
